I would like to see the consolation bracket go to 2 tiers. 11th,12th,13th and 14th place should be the only teams playing for (1.1,1.2,1.3 and 1.4) picks. 7th through 10th are teams that just missed out on playoffs so shouldn't be playing for a number 1.1 pick. We need to help out the bottom tier to get more parity in the league. Last year the top 10 teams were in the playoff hunt till the next to last game of regular season. We can do a 2nd tier for the 7th through 10th place teams as a consolation to play for the (1.5,1.6,1.7 and 1.8) picks.

The point of the having the Consolation Ladder was to keep teams from "throwing in the towel" so to speak in an effort to get the number one pick. In understand the logic behind a tiered bracket, but worry a little about an 11th-14th place team trying to stay bad or a 7th-10th place team trying to get worse to get the pick. With that said we're all capable of making our own decisions and strategies, but I don't like the idea of a team intentionally tanking during the handful of weeks before playoffs.
E.g. T#10 is playing T#6 a week before playoffs; T#10 is eliminated from the Big Bracket, but know they need to lose to get into the Second Tier of the Consolation Bracket; T#7 is playing T#8 anticipating the winner has a chance to steal that last playoff spot, but T#6 is playing against a team trying to lose.

Moze there is always going to be lines but in no way should the 7th best team be playing for the number 1 pick

I'm going to actually disagree here. I think that's an arbitrary cutoff point that isn't really fair to those other teams either. I had the exact same record as Moze and ended up as the No. 10 seed, just by a matter of tiebreakers or whatever. I also have been out of contention for the playoffs for a while because of my terrible April. If a similar situation arose last year, I'd like to have something to play for throughout the season next year even if the playoffs aren't in sight.
If this is a concern about the No. 7 team fighting for the top pick, I think we should think about adding 2 more teams to the normal playoffs instead.

Agree with Moze. This is to prevent tanking and making two tiers will re-introduce tanking to our league. This will hurt the playoffs as title contenders could make or miss the playoffs because their opponent is tanking. I think the systems is great how it is. If the rule is changed, it should just be to scrap the consolation bracket all together. As A's said making two tiers is just an arbitrary cutoff. But I think it should stay as is. Tanking has ruined other leagues I am in as 50% or more of the teams tank by mid season
