Current rules call milb graduate contracts "Arbitration Players"
To better emulate MLB rules the following rule should be changed:
My proposed rule:
Arbitration:
Managers can elect to tender/non-tender minor leaguers who are owned when they surpass their positional thresholds (300 Abs or 100.0 IP for SP, 50.0 IP for RP) in-season at the end of the current year. The rate for arbitration contracts (green players on the spreadsheet) are as follows:
Year 1 - $521,000
Year 2 - $521,000
Year 3 - $521,000
Year 4 - $2,000,000
Year 5 - $4,000,000

To better emulate MLB rules the following rule should be changed:
If a team would like to drop a player on an arbitration contract, they may do so at any point in the year with standard drop penalties (50% current year/25% other years). However, a manager can drop an arbitration player without incurring a salary penalty for any/all years if and only if the drop is made as a “non-tender” during the one (1) week RFA/MiLB Promotion week following the conclusion of our season.
My proposed rule:
If a team would like to drop a player on an arbitration contract, they may do so at any time during the season with a 50% current year penalty. Future seasons will not receive drop penalties.
