Currently, in our Rules, we have this to lay out how draft order is determined:
Option A: Keep the same
Draft order is determined by winner of Consolation Bracket to loser of Consolation Bracket followed by inverse order of Winners Bracket. Draft slots 9-14 are determined by inverse order of Champion Bracket results:
Championship teams get slots 13/14; Runner-up teams get slots 11/12; Two Week Matchup teams get slots 9/10. The winners get the lower pick. Draft slots 1-8 are determined by the results of the Consolation Bracket. Winners Losers
I think it makes more sense to have the teams not still in running for 1st place to be winner gets the higher pick, so:
Option B: Winners get earlier pick Draft order is determined by winner of Consolation Bracket to loser of Consolation Bracket followed by inverse order of Winners Bracket. Draft slots 9-14 are determined as follows
Championship teams get slots 13/14, where the Champion takes pick 14. Runner-up teams get slots 11/12; Two Week Matchup teams get slots 9/10. The winners of the Runner Up and Two-Week matchups get the earlier pick. Draft slots 1-8 are determined by the results of the Consolation Bracket. Winners Losers
So, the teams who finish in 3rd-6th would not have a reason to tank after being eliminated for a higher draft pick

I'm not sure I follow, but I like the overarching policy.
I think it would be really helpful to see an example bracket with resulting picks, maybe a Moze special?

I'm not sure I follow, but I like the overarching policy. I think it would be really helpful to see an example bracket with resulting picks, maybe a Moze special? Here's how it looks this year, the old way: Draft Order: 1. Colorado Rockies 2. Baltimore Orioles 3. San Francisco Giants 4. Detroit Tigers 5. Cleveland Indians 6. Cincinnati Reds 7. Los Angeles Dodgers 8. New York Yankees 9. Oakland Athletics 10. Boston Red Sox 11. Texas Rangers 12. Atlanta Braves 13. Kansas City Royals 14. New York Mets Here is how it would look in after the change Draft Order: 1. Colorado Rockies 2. Baltimore Orioles 3. San Francisco Giants 4. Detroit Tigers 5. Cleveland Indians 6. Cincinnati Reds 7. Los Angeles Dodgers 8. New York Yankees 9. Boston Red Sox 10. Oakland Athletics 11. Atlanta Braves 12. Texas Rangers 13. Kansas City Royals 14. New York Mets So in the second list, 9 and 10 as well as 11 and 12 switch teams, 13/14 stays the same--champ gets last pick
